mex331. It’s a Great Value for Your Money

The more off the beaten path that you go the further your money will go. You can get a full meal in many places for only a couple dollars. The further from popular beaches you go the cheaper hotels, taxis and everything else will be.

2. Mexicans are Some of the Friendliest People on Earth

Most places that you go in Mexico you’ll be greeted with a smile. Most people are willing to do their best to help you with directions or whatever else you might need help with.

3. Incredible Beaches

Mexico’s extensive coastlines include the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Depending on the region of Mexico that you choose, the beaches and the water around it will be different. Tulum is one of my favorite places to do a Mexico holiday with crystal clear water, fine white sand and beautiful cliffside views. Some of the species of whales, turtles, and other large animals also differ between the Atlantic ocean and Pacific ocean sides of the country.

mex14. Beautiful Ruins

Mexico’s ancient civilizations were the most impressive and formidable in North America, and their cities and sacred precincts are a national treasure and a highlight of the country. Their tall pyramids, richly decorated temples and palaces, ritual ball–game courts and gruesome sacrificial sites have always amazed outsiders. Visiting them today is still very much a journey into an extraordinary past and an experience not to be missed even if you don’t know the history of ancient Mexico.  Some ruins are hidden away on remote hilltops or shrouded in thick jungle, and can be the most exciting and rewarding to visit, for those with an adventurous spirit.

5. Amazing Local Crafts

Skilled Mexican artisans use wood, clay, stone, glass, metals, and textiles to produce a wide range of decorative handmade merchandise. Your friends and family will be sure to love any gifts that you bring back.

mex26. Tasty Food

The cuisine you will find in Mexico is primarily a fusion of indigenous Mesoamerican cooking with European, especially Spanish, elements added after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire in the 16th century. The basic staples are native foods, such as corn, beans and chili peppers. Most food is pretty inexpensive as long as you don’t visit the Applebees in Cancun. I really enjoyed some amazing street tacos on my trips to Mexico.

7. Intersting Art

Mexico features some pretty interesting museums. Mexican art consists of various visual arts, from painting to handmade masks and even glass blowing. Many consider textiles such as clothing and costumes to also be a form of art in Mexico.

8. Great Places to Stay

From boutique hotels to rustic beach houses, Mexico offers travelers a variety of charming and cheap places to stay. I stayed in many different hotels and always had a nice experience!
