When I signed up for white water rafting with Geotours in Baños, Ecuador with my friend Miles, I had no idea what an adrenaline rush it would turn out to be! I hadn’t been rafting since highschool in Maine and the portion of the Kennebec River we did was much tamer than the scenic Paztaza river. We had quite the briefing before rafting, including us sitting in the raft miming what to do when our leader called out different commands. I found this attention to safety comforting and it gave us a chance to meet the people who would be on this adventure with us!
Rafting itself was insane, this was my first time rafting Class IV rapids! Sometimes the entire raft was under water, waves crashed over us but our leader always told us how to paddle out of it! Sometimes it was terrifying, but always exhilarating in a good way! This was hands down one of my favorite things to do in Baños, I highly recommend signing up! After rafting a tasty lunch was included, we were able to choose chicken or fish. I went with the fish and it was delicious!
