As soon as I walked into Re-Bar I was delighted by the display of homemade sweets and colorful decor. John and I ordered yummy smoothies off of the vegetarian menu and being in Canada I had to order Poutine! Theirs is made with baked yukon gold potatoes, locally sourced cheese curds and smothered with miso gravy! A fancy poutine that was so very delicious! I ordered the “3 Sisters Enchiladas” which are two corn tortillas stuffed with pinto beans, roast butternut squash and sweet corn, baked with red chile sauce and white cheddar cheese, topped with melted monterey jack cheese, cilantro creme fraiche and toasted organic pumpkin seeds. It is served with red chile rice and creamy cabbage slaw. If that sounds like a lot of food it’s because it is! It was so flavorful, I was only able to eat about half of it and took the rest to go. John got a white cheddar tuna melt with lemon-basil mayo, celery, sweet pickle relish and sharp white cheddar cheese grilled on stone bread. It was served with a generous side salad.
