This was my very first time having an up close experience with birds of prey. Pacific Northwest Raptors was one of my favorite experiences ever. My friend John and I arrived a little early so we were able to walk around and look at all of the different birds of prey on their perches. We then met Selena who took us and a few others on an “Owl Prowl” in a beautiful wooded area with Daenerys the baby Great Horned Owl. What an absolutely magnificent creature! It was a joy to watch her soar through the trees! Selena was a gregarious, funny and knowledgeable guide-you could really feel her passion for the birds. We were all given thick leather gloves that covered our forearms. We took turns when Daenerys was flying holding a piece of food and letting her land on our arm, eat the food and hang out with us for a couple minutes. This was the absolute highlight for me!
After the Owl Prowl Selena showed my friend John and I a few more birds and let us hold an adorable baby barn owl and a peregrine falcon! I cannot say enough how amazing it is to see these fierce birds of prey so close. We stayed for a flying demonstration that was well worth it. They flew eagles, owls, falcons and hawks! Pacific Northwest Raptors is very reasonably priced and educational but definitely not boring, I would love to visit here again!
I was a guest of Pacific Northwest Raptors, as always all opinions are my own.
