Barcelona is my favorite city in Europe. The attractions range from historic buildings to museums and open air markets, and you can explore the city by metro or taxi. As a precaution, leave your valuables and original documents in a safe at the hotel and remain aware of your surroundings.

The Dalí Museum Tour by High-Speed Train

To make the most of your visit to Barcelona, consider taking the Dali Museum Tour. The Dalí Theatre-Museum of Figueres offers a unique experience of being able to observe, live and enjoy the work and thought of one of the most extraordinary minds of the 20th century. It contains his broadest range of works spanning the artistic career of Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), from his earliest artistic experiences and his surrealist creations down to the works of the last years of his life. With the high-speed train tour you can see the museum and be back in Barcelona for lunch!

Parc de la Ciutadella

Parc de la Ciutadella is a historic park that was initially designed in the late 1800s by Josep Fontseré in anticipation of the World’s Fair. Today, many of the historic aspects of the park remain. Visit the Castell dels Tres Dragons for a meal, or head to the Barcelona Zoo located in the park. The Umbracel showcases a variety of plants, Hivernacle is a glass house that attracts tourists from around the world. The park is considered safe, and is conveniently located within the city.

La Barceloneta Beach

The beaches in Barcelona are busy, but worth a visit if you are travelling during the warmer months of the year. Make sure to leave your valuables at the hotel, and leave your key with the receptionist to prevent theft while you are swimming. Because theft is common on the beaches, carry money and other items of value with caution when visiting any of the beaches in Barcelona.

Open Air Market

If shopping is something that you enjoy, head to La Boqueria to see one of the most popular open markets in the region. La Boqueria is a historic site, with references to the market dating back to the early 1200s. Today, you will find a wide selection of foods, including prepared foods and ready-to-drink beverages, in the market. Try a glass of just-squeezed juice, or head toward a food counter to sample some of the region’s freshest cuisines at an affordable price.

Passeig de Gràcia

The Passeig de Gracia is one of the busiest streets in Barcelona, and also an area where shopping and people-watching opportunities abound. Visit any of the shops in the area or souvenirs or necessities, or visit during the early evening hours to observe the residents of the city. As one of the most popular attractions in the city, everyone should visit Passeig de Gràcia at least once on while in the city.
