I gravitate to warmer climates having grown up in Maine with some pretty brutal winters. However I have found that choosing to visit cold destinations is much funner for me than living in one. My good friend Justin Kalvin AKA “Kalvin” joined me as my snowy adventure photographer!
I was pretty nervous and excited riding up the mountain in the chairlift.I snowboarded a few times in highschool and decided to try my first snowboarding lesson at Winter Park Resort! Will Vorilhon was my instructor and he was incredible! He was so patient with me, fun and is fantastic at snowboarding! Definitely request him if you visit Winter Park Resort.I fell a lot but I had the time of my life when I got the hang of gliding down the mountain.Getting on and off the chairlift was a challenge, I liked the scenery on the way up!This was my first time boarding through a forest. Our instructor Will snowboarding much better than me!
My friend Justin getting ready to try out a new trail solo!Wow! Those mountains!I’ve known Justin since I was 17 years old, I love that we still have the best adventures! Can’t get enough of these mountain views!YEEEE!!!Afraid of heights? Heading to Grand County Colorado for some snowmobiling, a sleigh ride and snow shoeing! Snowmobiling through the snowy pines of Arapahoe National Forest was epic. On the Trail Rentals in Rocky Mountain National Park do a great job!I loved snowmobiling through the snow!My snow couch After all of those activities we gained quite the appetite. We had delicious food at The Cheeky Monk, Da Vincis, Fat Cat Cafe and OA Bistro!
The horses were my favorite part of the sleigh ride at Winding River Ranch. My first time ever taking a sleigh ride! Justin takes on a bear. These fuzzy Norwegian Fjords stole my heart. In Grand Lake we stayed at the Gateway Inn. I loved their S’mores kits, my breakfast view, the rustic design, chess boards and of course the hot tub!
This was my first time ever snowshoeing! Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful in every season! My friend Jeana from Surf and Sunshine getting silly with me. I couldn’t get away from Jeana! She took me out! Until next time I return to Colorado…
