When my friend Gladys and I’s taxi pulled up to Xanadu Island Resort I immediately felt excited. All of the lush vegetation and thatched roofs it felt like a jungle paradise. We were exhausted from our long journey and it was refreshing to be greeted by such a friendly staff who immediately helped us with our bags and gave us delicious rum punches. It really felt like vacation. The pool is gorgeous and overlooks the ocean, I loved walking down their dock and lounging on the chairs at the end enjoying the ocean view.
On our first night we stayed in a one bedroom unit with a full kitchen and living room. It was very clean, spacious and we loved the kitchen. We walked to the store around the corner and bought some drinks and groceries to make breakfast.
On our second night we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with an front porch with table and chairs as well as a hammock. The two bedroom suite had a huge living room and dining area, two small bedrooms up a spiral staircase, a full kitchen and two small bathrooms.
I loved that Xanadu Island Resort offers free bicycles, beach towels, snorkel gear and even free kayak rentals! They were incredibly helpful making phone calls for us to help book our tour and arrange taxis. If you want to splurge a little it’s the perfect place to get that vacation feeling.
